Accelerated Resolution Therapy

Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is an evidence-based, trauma-focused psychotherapy that uses eye movements and guided imagery to help the brain process and resolve distressing memories, sensations, and emotional reactions. ART is grounded in established principles of memory reconsolidation and is designed to reduce the emotional and physiological intensity of traumatic experiences without requiring clients to relive them in detail.

Developed by Laney Rosenzweig, LMFT, ART is used to treat post-traumatic stress, anxiety, depression, grief, phobias, and other trauma-related conditions. Many clients find that ART allows them to process painful experiences more quickly and gently than traditional talk therapy alone, while still maintaining a strong sense of control and safety.

I came to ART as a clinician with healthy skepticism. Like many therapists trained in multiple trauma modalities, I needed to understand not only the research, but the felt experience. I chose to receive ART myself and was struck by the depth of relief and clarity it offered. That personal experience, combined with the growing body of clinical research and the outcomes I now see in my own clients, led me to integrate ART into my practice.

While no single therapy is right for everyone, ART has become one of the most powerful and compassionate tools I use for helping individuals process trauma and reclaim a sense of calm, connection, and internal stability.
